Hannah’s Therapy Work

Hannah is a Husky German Shepherd mix therapy dog. Her person Kate expressed, “Hannah looks into my eyes and I know she is trying to tell me something.  I feel as if I am disconnected from my pets.” Hannah replied, “The reason you do not connect with me is because you are disconnected with yourself. Spend time with you; discover yourself more deeply, you have forgotten who you are. You are safe to do so.  This is therapy work.”

I suggested Kate make a list of Hannah’s qualities. This would give her insights about herself. We may not recognize our special, wonderful qualities. And there are traits we may choose to change!  I find this process fascinating while working with my clients.

Can You Relate?

Yesterday in a communication, a little dog gave a big message. Louis, a 6 year old Yorkie said to his person, “Your emotions get in the way of who you want to be. You buy into what brings you down.”

He also told his person she walks……walks…..walks……walks. He wants to walk, walk, walk, walk!

Little dogs like Louis need hardy exercise, and evidently so does mom.

Life, by Zeus

“Life, do you know what it is?” When I heard this statement I asked, “Who is this?’ Zeus, a cat I know in spirit came forward then said, “YOU are loved dearly, perfect in your individuality. Life is an experience which brings understanding into who we, at each moment, believe we are. Enjoy life, eternal, constantly evolving. You are about to evolve very soon. Chin up… is the way to navigate.”    Then poof… he was gone.

Healing Power of Purr

Much has been said about the purr from a feline. A few comments I have heard are – he is purring because he is happy, she is purring because she loves me, purring helps her feel better, and the list goes on. Recently my brother Dan emailed me an article on research devoted to animal acoustical sounds to investigate the very fundamental question of exactly why cats purr.  It is a long read yet worth the time.

Dr. David Williams, the American medical researcher, biochemist and chiropractor, recently wrote about some fascinating research from the Fauna Communications Research Institute in Hillsborough, North Carolina, a group devoted to animal acoustical sounds, who decided to investigate the very fundamental question of exactly why cats purr.

Survival mechanism

Although most of us believe cats purr to give voice to joy or contentment, cats also purr when they are under stress – when they are caged, or injured, or even during the rigors of birth.

In these circumstances, it stands to reason that purring was invented for a larger purpose than just happy noises. Purring, a sound involving both the larynx and the diaphragm requires a lot from a cat.

As the Fauna researchers put it: ‘When was the last time you heard someone singing, or humming to themselves . . .when they were in the emergency room with a broken leg? The purr has to be somehow involved with survival.’

After recording the purring of all manner of cats, from domestic cats to cheetahs and ocelots at the Cincinnati Zoo, the researchers discovered something untoward. The dominant frequency for all the big and small cats besides the cheetah was 25 Hz or 50 Hz – the same frequencies that are optimal for bone growth or repair – although cats seem to be able to ramp up the range to 140 Hz.

Porcupine

Froggy is a cute name for a dog, yet not so cute when near men, or when experiencing thunderstorms.  As I began to communicate with Froggy, in my mind’s eye I saw a dog’s muzzle with wiry hair.  This did not fit Froggy’s description.  I explained to Molly, Froggy’s person, unexpected living or deceased animals occasionally come through to help.  I asked Molly if she could relate to an animal with a coarse wiry look on his muzzle, she could not.  We were both puzzled.  I then heard the word porcupine!  You have to admit it would be an odd word to hear at this moment.  I hoped this word would give us a clue, but Molly seemed even more baffled.  I focused back to the dog and clearly heard, porcupine, porcupine, porcupine.  At this point we did not know if we should laugh or beat our heads against a wall.  I then realized Molly was traveling through her memory banks for an answer.  I waited in silence.  With great relief, she remembered that earlier in the day she had received an email about a dog rescued―with porcupine quills in her muzzle. Thus, Porcupine became her name for the communication.

One would have had to personally experience the communication to fully appreciate Porcupine’s wit and wisdom with her comical interjections at pivotal moments.  What I can offer you is a list of Porcupine’s comments Molly and I compiled, which are to the point, pun intended.

Porcupine’s comments:

Your mind, in one thought, is more powerful than a usual thousand words.

Don’t play into those human ways.  Be YOU and show them.

Time to put your Big Girl Pants on.

Recognize your greatness and be cocky about it.

Act like the man of the house.  Get accustomed to being in charge.  Put your crown on and RULE!

Be, Love, Fun

It is time for ease and honesty with oneself

What you want―think it.  Is better than thinking about what we don’t want.

Molly commented several times, that’s going to be work.  Porcupine offered in response: That will be fun to learn.

Porcupine asked me, “Do you think she’s gets it?”   She then said, “The proof will be in Froggy.”

Porcupine’s suggestions hopefully helped Froggy, a fearful dog, as his person Molly.  It may seem some animals come into our lives to create havoc, yet when we understand the bigger view, animals help us―Be Better!

Tug-Of-War

Blackie, a mutt from my childhood, unexpectedly appears in my mind’s eye.  He wants my readers to know he is the epitome of what people are seeking:  peace, joy, beauty, fun, and so much more, to a level we will come to know.

Blackie explains, “When choosing the direction that “feels” secure and “good” despite conditioned beliefs from the past, projections for the future, and connections with the present, we align ourselves with an easier, more productive, happier way of living.”

“When one lives in the moment, it feels similar to slow motion because of a heightened awareness of oneself and surroundings.  But when one operates in slow motion, actually more is accomplished than when rushing about because the internal guidance is now clearer providing fruitful direction and information.  This may not make sense at first.  Give it a go and experience it for yourself.  Slow down, breathe, and experience your surroundings.”

Blackie continues, “When the heart speaks, take action.  Above all else follow this.  It is a way to good days.”

Fear is old, judgment is old, and guilt is old, throw these old “ways”….away!

Live in the present and you will receive presence.

And always, ask for help from the many that are here to serve you.  We are ready and poised for your call when you are ready.  Please keep in mind your calls are not just for difficult times, but for good times to become even better.

No more tug-o-war.  Go now in the direction that calls you.  Spirit’s got your back, as Karen’s friend *Suzette Faith Foster expresses quite often.

Listening to Divine guidance versus listening to advice and direction from humans can be perplexing. The first path is new to many and they may not trust or understand feelings or intuitive information that comes to them.  A simple rule of thumb I use to trust information, whether divine or human, is when it feels good, or I get chills through my body, it is true for me.

I was but a bit of a girl when you were in my life Blackie.  You were loved and  appreciated then as you are now.

Tongue Twister

Message from an Arabian horse named Kyro to his person Dee.  It is a bit of a tongue twister and riddle at the same time.

What Dee does not know, she does not do. She does not know Dee. Time for Dee to do what Dee wants to do. Dee, do what makes you happy. Dee, you don’t know how to do it because you, Dee, have been doing for everyone else.   Just do Dee!

Purple People Eater

An interesting thing has happened on my way through the past several months.  I have been sharing more deliberate information that speaks not only of thinking out of the box in which we live, but living outside of the box.  Life is taking on a new paradigm.  I have read about this from many sources, the animals speak of it, and most importantly, I feel it in my bones. I am learning to embrace an easier, trusting way of living―living in the present.

I find circumstances that used to bother or upset me, do not. A big one is―there are close people in my life that may be passing over. Now and then I feel a tinge of fear or grief, but then quickly go to what the other side is about and I become happy for them―sometimes, I wish could be there too.  To not fear death, it has been said, is the end of all fears.  Yet I have more to learn.

In the past few days I have had important emails disappear.  I spent many an hour looking for them, not to be found.  I asked for guidance, and from my spiritual ear, I heard: Purple People Eater.  (Yes, you read that correctly.)  An inquisitive smile came to my face.  And I thought I was going to write a message from an animal.  I got the Purple People Eater!  I guess in some form this purple beast could be associated with the animal kingdom, or not!

I researched Purple People Eater.  The words come from a song from 1958, a silly whimsical fun song. The short version of what this message meant to me:  lighten up, have fun.  The color purple is associated with the higher realms, let it consume or eat my mucky energy.  All will work out fine in spite of losing my emails.  And it did.

Another version:  Don’t be eaten up by the Purple People Eater, or don’t let obstacles in life eat you up.  The lost emails were consuming me.

Pearls of Wisdom

An eleven year old Rhodesian Ridge Back gave good advice to her person wanting to fix her married son’s life.  “Giving people pearls of wisdom is good. Making them eat it is not!”  As I held back the laughter my client grew quiet.

How many can put their hands up on giving advice?

Her Rhodesian Ridge Back then gave her a helping paw. “Listen and ask questions to the son to stimulate his own thinking to support him in finding the answers that suit him best.”

Larry’s Lessons From Beyond

Misty, a black and gray American short hair cat had passed three years ago.  Larry, her person, knew I communicated with deceased animals and that deceased people make themselves known when in conversation with the animal.

Misty was originally his mother’s cat. When Mom passed dad took care of Misty and after Dad passed it was Larry’s turn. Three people, in two generations, were threaded together by means of a cat. On this day, once again they were a family, and I was invited to the party… how lucky am I!

Larry wanted to hear from Misty and receive advice from his father whom he greatly respected. Larry was looking to make a job change. He was ready to take his talents to another level.

Misty said that I should walk with my head held high and have confidence in myself and my abilities. When I project confidence and optimism it will be reflected back to me. This attitude would support him in finding a new job.

When Larry asked his father for guidance I hesitated to tell Larry what I heard from Herb. It seemed offensive to me. I then realized it was to make a point. Herb answered with a firm tone: Don’t you remember anything I taught you? You know what to do. Larry was silent for a moment. He replied with a lower voice than usual and a bit goaded, “Do what feels good. Dad, you always told me to do what feels good.”

After our session Larry asked if I receive more information from his father to please call him. His father came to me the next morning. Herb wanted to emphasize to Larry that that it is okay to be successful and happy and to practice feeling how it would feel. Larry had been the caretaker of Mom, Dad and Misty. It was now Larry’s turn to nurture himself and follow his dreams. At the last moment Herb expounds, “Oh, and exercise!” I got a chuckle from Larry when I shared Herbs last statement.
