Mr. Timothy (Boston terrier) gave me the message this month to share.

 “Looking thru rose colored glasses”

 His words:

“There is fun to be had.

I know there is much concern around my issues of health and social behavior.  I actually have none!

My body, my mind, reacts to my environment. This is my programming.

My soul is free as a bird.

My body, my mind is experiencing my environment, which some would say is a challenge.”

My soul is free; it soars like a bird, without limitations and experiences pure joy

My soul comes into life with no physical or mental challenges

Through your eyes, you simply see the effects of the world upon my being.

“My person is growing in understanding as are many.

When choosing to have a different experience, mind set, or belief, ones health and social outlook changes too.

We are choosing to have a different experience with our surroundings.

Let go of what you know. Roll in the goodness and love of your super soul

Perhaps seeing the world through what some may call “rose colored glasses… is liberty.”

Growth happens when one opens up, gets out of their own way, places the past behind and views things from a new perspective, “their own”

Release the old “data”; allow the soul to be your guide, trust

Optimism creates change

Change directs the experience to play out in a beautiful way

What shall you do?   Simply play every day.  Smile a lot.  Hold the head up.  Dance and sing.  All you do is fun and good.

Breathe in and out fully and easily.  Accept all unconditionally.

Nurture oneself. You’re on the right track.

What will you choose to do?

Over analyze, over think, dig too deep, question too much

Breathe in life, bring in joy, smile a lot, feel good about who you are

Self love and the right choices will let your soul soar free from all that has influenced what you see.

“When challenges abound… put on your rose colored glasses and the experience changes.

Freedom to all!!!  “

Hard to top that one

Put on the rose colored glasses right now and see your new life play out

It is your answer to true freedom, the freedom to be yourself.

 Thank you Timothy, amazing!

 Love My Rose Colored Glasses,

 Co Writer Becky Starr

As I open my mind for ideas for my next news letter, Timothy, a Boston terrier makes himself known.

Timothy is a special boy to me, because he is Becky Starr’s animal companion, and Becky is co writer of my newsletter.

Timothy was so excited when I opened up to him for the next letter. He immediately, in a big way said:

“Tell yourself – I love me, I love me, I love me, I love me, I love me.

Loving oneself is bigger than oneself.  Sooooo Big!

Did he sense the Day of Hearts and Flowers was upon us?

While this “one” day of the year promotes “couples”, hearts, flowers, candy and romance, it is only one day of the year, when one loves themselves it is “hearts, flowers, candy and romance all year long.

Loving oneself is bigger then oneself, because this amazing energy touches every part of your life and everyone in it.

We are not really taught how to love ourselves, but we are told over and over that it is the key.

So this Valentines Day, that will be our goal, learning how to love ourselves.

Charlie Chaplin, best known mime actor, wrote a beautiful self love poem on his 70th birthday (April 16, 1959). It is exceptional because there are not many poems written about loving the self and in my opinion, contains much needed wisdom. Read the rest of this entry

Blast from the past to go forward in the future

As the New Year begins, one always hopes to come up with the next “brilliant” message or the right Mantra to fit a fresh start.

As I was sorting thru my thoughts and notes I ran across something I had written called Animal Messages from 2010.

It moved me, inspired me and I felt it was a perfect message for 2015. “There is an old saying “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”.

No long dragged out “how to “manual, no novel, nothing complicated, simple to read, easy to ingest, simple to the point messages of wisdom to live by from the animals.

“What message should be given this Christmas?”

Christmas means so many different things to different people, celebrated in a variety of ways within each home or culture.

It is the one day a year that everyone participates in a celebration of some sort representing birth & life, even though some may have lost sight of the true meaning.

Christmas can be a time that brings family and friends together, a time for travel, cooking, baking, shopping, a time of worship, a time of introspection or perhaps a time of giving of oneself. Read the rest of this entry

Austa Lavesta Baby!

Animals are such amazing beings; they are full of surprises, insight, wisdom inspiration, joy, love, and a child like awareness that is so pure.

I can truly say I never know what is to come while in conversation.

In a recent session I was chatting with a big ol’ beautiful yellow lab named Sarah.

I am not really sure how the subject came about but Sarah was concerned about her person Janet.

She wanted me to ask Janet “what she wanted in life”.

Wow, that was a big question!

We turned our attention to Janet.

I repeated the question: What do you want in your life Janet, Sarah wants to know.

Her long pause was a give away, she had no idea.

In that moment she became aware that she had lost her vision, she lost touch with her child within; the child that took time to play, the child that had a vivid imagination, the child that believed in magic, the child that had dreams and desires, and the child that had a vision of her future. She had lost touch with Janet.

There was a sadness and hopelessness in her voice as she spoke, I could feel the tears.

A vision came to mind as I listened, a vision of a large platter that was piled high with a variety of different food, so much so it was falling over the edge. As I shared this vision with her and we began to discuss what this represented, it was clear that this full platter represented the responsibilities in her world.

The responsibilities, the duties, the expectations, the requirements, the should’s, the have too’s, etc. had become more than she could handle.

The heaviness of her responsibility load literally drained the energy of life from “Janet” and made Janet disappear.

It was time to clean the plate, lighten the load.

I guided Janet thru an exercise that I felt would be effective and asked her to continue to do this exercise daily.

I asked that she take one item at a time from the platter and examine in detail.

Being as honest and objective as she could be, questioning the item, what was the need for this in her current life. Was it a fit, was it necessary, did it bring her joy, was it a “should have” or a “have to” that she placed on herself or had someone else placed upon her.  This is very important, to recognize what you put on the plate or what others put on the plate.

If it was something that needed to remain on the plate, then I asked her to try and see how she could change the dynamics of it to suit her life, to lighten the load.

If it was something that no longer suited her, something that she had not chosen to pile on the plate, then visualize the elimination of it, turn it back over to whom it belonged.

This can be an easy process by just becoming aware of what has piled up, seeing it for what it is and taking control of it, at times clearing the plate can be challenging.

But it can be done!

It is important when one feels overwhelmed in their day or their life to simply stop, look, listen and just take a moment to be.  In that moment it is important to identify what they are feeling and justify if it is real or necessary or how to change its grip.

Visualize the platter, what is creating this feeling of heaviness or overwhelm.

Can you let it go, eliminate it or change it to suite your needs, to lighten the load?

Life is a responsibility, but it was not meant to be full of responsibilities!

No matter what your day brings, it was meant for you to live, to smile, to breathe, to love, to care for, nurture and appreciate yourself.

The have to’s are just a small particle in the big picture.

As we continued our work, suddenly Janet made a comment. She said, “I know what I want in my life. “I want the child within me to surface and just enjoy”.

We smiled and thanked Sarah for opening up a window of opportunity, enlightenment, and a chance for Janet to find herself again and truly live.

Take a look at your plate. Is it full?

Is it time for your child to come out and play.

Are you living happy?  Would you like support in lightening your load?  Say yes to you.

Life Goes On

What do we do when a life passes on and we are left behind?

In the moment of loss of a animal family member most of us feel helpless, childlike, a deep sadness shadows our being, tears flow, our heart aches, we go into shock, become almost numb for a time, we feel the void in our daily life’s, there is an emptiness, nothing feels normal, we grieve.
We question ourselves through every single moment of the event. We were not educated how to handle loss. We do not know what to expect or what to do. It just happens!
And in that moment we are expected to step up to the plate.

Time passes, the sadness lightens but the void of that love lingers on and stays in our hearts forever.
In my communications a dog that had just passed said to me:
“Why does my human worry about what to do with my body, I am no longer that body, but do what pleases you.”
The loss of a love is truly all about the one’s that are left behind.

The being, the soul that you loved only housed that body during its stay on this earth, but the body was not what you loved, yes it may have been amazing, but it was the spirit that you loved, the kinship, the friendship, and the bond of one to another. The visible sight and feel of the body is only what you feel you truly miss.
We must do what pleases us, we must grieve in our own manner and what we choose to do with the body is merely a ritual to honor and give thanks to the body that allowed our special being to live in while with us in a physical form. The ritual is for us, it comforts us, it nurtures our soul and it is part of our healing.
But it is in fact only a body that we mourn. Not the spirit. Read the rest of this entry

A question that I frequently get asked:

How does a communication evolve?

So I am going to share an experience with you today to show you how messages are connected.

This is a communication with Max, a confident beautiful yellow and white cat.

Max is said to be very particular, confident and loves to express his likes and dislikes.

His person Beth contacted me regarding some behavior problems that were causing upset and frustration within the home.

Max was peeing outside of the litter box and had been clawing regularly on the furniture.

Beth felt out of control, found herself impatient, loosing her temper, yelling, screaming with no resolve in sight. She was unhappy at this point with her own behavior and needed help.

I explained that in the cat world Max was not misbehaving in any manner. Scratching is a natural instinctive process important to a cat’s emotional as well as physical health. To him this was normal. Read the rest of this entry

You’ve got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em !

Often animals communicate their frustrations regarding their human guardians.

Jasper the kitty recently communicated with me his concern, rather frustration regarding his pet guardian.

“She knows that things need to change, but she takes baby steps forward and then takes baby steps backward, why doesn’t she just go”?

In that moment the words from a famous song “The Gambler” recorded by American country music artist Kenny Rogers back in the 70’s started humming in my head.

You’ve got to know when to hold ‘em

Know when to fold ‘em
Know when to walk away
Know when to run
You never count your money
When you’re sittin’ at the table
There’ll be time enough for countin’
When the dealin’s done

The song tells the story of a late-night meeting on a “train bound for nowhere”, two men in conversation.

One man referred to as the gambler says to the other man

“Son, I’ve made my livin’ out of readin’ people’s faces,

Knowin’ what the cards were by the way they held their eyes.
If you don’t mind my sayin’ I can see you’re out of aces, down on your luck.
“If you’re gonna play the game boy you gotta learn to play it right”.

The secret to survivin’ is knowin’ what to throw away and knowin’ what to keep.

The song isn’t really about a card game – it’s about handling what life gives you, what some would call “playing the hand you’re dealt.”

When fully participating in playing the hand your dealt you have the opportunity to choose the cards you want to hold onto and discard the ones you choose to let go of.

You can play to win or can just attempt to stay in the game.

Much of our life energy  is spent holding on to people, places, things, habits, routines, emotions, even memories that no longer serve us well.

“A train bound for nowhere.”

“If you’re gonna play the game boy you gotta learn to play it right”.

The secret to survivin’ is knowin’ what to throw away and knowin’ what to keep.

Jasper the cat was trying to give his person that message.

Play the game to win and commit to change what no longer serves you.

Get on a train with a destination, go full steam ahead and no turning back.

Play to win and listen to what we refer to as “animal instinct” and you will know exactly what to hold and when to fold.  It’s just that simple.

Enjoy Life!

“I love you

With every breath and pump of my heart.”

During a communication, my client asked that I express her deep love to her dog “Blackie”.

As the thought/words resonated to him Blackie immediately responded, with the sentence

“I love you with every breath and pump of my heart.”

What an amazing verbal expression of “love”.

 Don’t you just love LOVE!

For many the exchange of love with an animal just seems natural, it feels so simple, uncomplicated and the most commonly used buzz word, unconditional. It makes your heart smile and your tail wag, if you had one.

The thing about pure “love” is that once we feel that smile within our heart, we experience the feeling of “happiness”. Once we experience the feeling of happiness, we have the ultimate experience, of enjoying life itself. And once our mind, body, spirit and soul get a sense of this feeling, this “high” we desire it, we crave it, we want it, and it has more power than any other emotion.

For the animal kingdom it is natural to love with the heart wide open and expect nothing in return.  They walk head on into the unknown; they risk it all for just that one moment in time that their heart will touch another and their tail will wag.  This is the lesson that the animals are here to teach us.

 Unconditional Love pays it forward.

Living in and from love is the eternal ticket. It is the foundation of all that stands strong.

Pure unconditional love leads you down your correct path, it opens the doors to opportunities, it shares precious moments in time with all that you touch, it allows you to embrace your dreams, it is your constant guardian, and it frees you to your very soul to be the best you can be.

And most of all, it is so simple to live a life full of love.

The most famous biblical chapter on love is from 1 Corinthians:

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

It was the dawn of a new morning.

I could hear the sweet melody of a Red Wing Black Bird, ever so relaxed perched upon a cattail stalk.

As he sang I could feel the vibration of the melody within my being to my very core, the sound was so vibrant, so alive that I could almost envision the symbolic notes themselves moving towards the sky.

I stood quiet, in awe and simply enjoyed this moment in time.

Soon after his melody he took to flight.  With the sun just above I could see the glowing reflection of light on his red wings, and witnessed the subtle movement he made using the wind as his guide.

He was coming toward me, our eyes met and a message was relayed:

“Fly high or fly low, it is your choice, but fly;  as you watch me you see that I flow with the currents; I do not try to go against them.

I am confident on my path, I surrender, it is smooth and taking me exactly where I need to go.

The light of the sun warms my heart which reflects upon all that see me and it is a brighter day because of this.

Each new day is a day to just be.”

The Red winged blackbird is considered a spiritual sign with a message to be taken seriously.

They are guardians, they alert us when change is taking place and to be aware that is time to make decisions.

They guide us to move forward with focus, tenacity, determination and remind us to use our innate power to the fullest potential to connect with Mother Nature and trust.

I have learned that when I let go, when I surrender and just flow it truly takes me exactly where I need to go. Life is smooth & good.

It does not matter if I fly high or fly low!

When I go against the current, the flow, I cannot fly; I am paralyzed and end up no where that I want to be.

Right now is a time for balance and grounding, connect with Mother Nature as there is magic in the air.

Pay attention, listen to the melody within your heart, surrender, let go, trust and

Just fly!

The sun will warm your heart and your light will shine on all of those who see.
